If your looking for a New York loft apartment that you can sail and move anywhere then this would not be a bad choice. Harwood Marine Surveys were requested to carry out a pre-purchase survey and sea trials in Port Du Canet en Roussillon in the South of France on a Lagoon 52F . Port Du Canet has excellent facilities for catamarans in for refit or repairs. If you think 52 is big in the catamaran world think again, seventy feet and above are huge with beam to match. What I like is the open space in the saloon and outside deck space. Managing the sails is also easy as the fully battened main is a roller furling system as are all the other sails and are hoisted by electric winches. On the sea trials the speed was deceiving, breeze was 8 to 12 knots and 7.2 knots boat speed was achieved making it a very good fast comfortable passage maker. My favourite catamaran still goes to the Gunboat 66 that Harwood Marine Surveys surveyed two years ago but I would not say no to the Lagoon 52F. Thank you to all involved.
